When you GO instead of saying NO

Sometimes when God calls us we have a tendency to be all like “I dunno God is that you or is that me?” Other times when God calls us, He isn't calling us to success but to merely plant the seed. Even still we must lean into the calling and be obedient.
I don’t know about you but obedience is something that I struggle with and not because I don’t like doing the dishes. I thrive on routines and relationships and if either of those are tossed out the windows so is my sanity. You know what I’m saying? Saying yes to God isn’t always about being comfortable either. It’s about stepping outside of our boundaries and walking in the unknown knowing God has everything in control. I’ll give a couple examples.
1. I can’t remember exactly when all of it started going down, but a job came about with social media (go figure)… Facebook to be more specific. One comment led to another comment which led to a conversation about me coming out to Utah for the whole
summer. I asked for a week to really pray about if this is where I needed to be and sure enough it’s where I needed to be. AND YALL BLESSING HAVE BEEN FALLING LIKE CRAAAAAZYYYY.

It’s not always about making big gestures though, following God’s calling is simply doing as he says. It’s that easy. If you feel like you need to do something DO IT. Winning hearts for the kingdom is literally life and death. If you die to self, someone else can gain eternal life. You never know when the person you’re called to minster to is going to pass away or pass through your life. Reach them while you can and do so lovingly.
2. The other day when I was doing my devotional in the morning I felt like I really needed to text my friend. Me being me I was like ehhhh I dunno if that’s a good idea. This person wasn’t exactly a close friend but he was someone who I had a unique friendship with and we hadn’t talked in a while… Needless to say I bucked up and just texted him. I just asked how he’d been and touched base. Nothing too in depth but just letting him know the Lord had put him on my heart in that moment. The response I received was a blessing in and of itself. He told me that I was the first person that’s actually made a conscious effort to reach out to him and that it had made him really happy, which made me happy.
Y’all I’m going to make this very simple. I don’t have my Bible degree… yet… but I will say this, when you start walking in God’s will and start following His call on your life things start happening. Mountains start moving and walls start tumbling down. My friends and I always will say “praises go up and blessings come down”. It’s real. It happens. God is faithful to His faithful. He listens to our cries and uses others to reach those who call upon His name. That other person he’s using for someone might just be you.
Be the one who plants the seed or be the one who waters the seed, ultimately be the one who saves a life for Jesus.
