Before & After

He comes as a thief in the night, sly. We sit unexpecting like a house on the rocks in the middle of an impending storm. Though we sit on a rock we are vunerable from everyside from day to day life. The wind constant and firm. The waves come wild and rebellious. He comes unforgiving and we, unaware of what's happening, sit helpless as we watch our house containing all of our possessions come tumbling down. We were vunerable, but now we are bare standing alone and embarrased at our foolishness. You can see it can't you.
Because you've been there. We've all been there. Maybe different circumstances but alwyas the same outcomes. Left with our thoughts as our only possessions we begin to analyze and analyze until we overanalyze and have no cmprehension of ourselves at all. Left with the pieces of the life we thought we knew in shambles. We don't know where to even begin to pick up the pieces. We turn to anyone and anything hoping for some sort of resolution but end up just as confused as before. It's no good. I'm no good. I'm done...what have I done... This is as good as it's going to get you tell yourself. I am only as good as the life I've torn apart around me. The night around you seems eternal.
Until day break
Then, the sun rises. The warmth radiates off the surface of your sin. Wow, this is good but the lies creep in and tell you it won't last. It can't last... but it does. The day doesn't seem to end and just like the sun shines in the sky, the light in your eyes returns again. The sun has seemed to revive you. It's almost like it was before, you begin to rebuild.
This is life after the fall. And it is possible. It's ready for you, whenever you want to attain it. You just have to reach out and reclaim it. Reclaim it and live in it.
Jesus,
Thank you for being the son that rose again. Thank you for taking our shame and putting it on display for all humanity to see WE DONT HAVE TO CARRY OUR SIN! NO! You have already won and we need only surrender.
Surrender and breath again.
Surrender and smile again.
Surrender and feel whole again.
Again and again and again and again and again and again until eternity comes forever.
Amen.
